NSW\nAdministrative Boundaries Theme - ABS Statistical Areas Level 2

\nWGS 84 service aligned to GDA94
\nThis dataset has spatial reference [WGS 84 \u2248 GDA94] which may result in\nmisalignments when viewed in GDA2020 environments. A similar service with a\n\u2018multiCRS\u2019 suffix is available which can support GDA2020, GDA94 and WGS 84 \u2248\nGDA2020 environments.
\nIn due course, and allowing time for user feedback and testing, it is intended\nthat the original service name will adopt the new multiCRS functionally.
The Australian\nStatistical Geography Standard (ASGS) brings together in one framework all of\nthe regions which the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and many other\norganisations use to collect, release and analyse geographically classified\nstatistics.
The ASGS ensures that\nthese statistics are comparable and geospatially integrated and provides users\nwith a coherent set of standard regions so that they can access, visualise,\nanalyse and understand statistics.

\nThe 2016 ASGS will be used for the 2016 Census of Population and Housing and\nprogressively introduced into other ABS data collections.
\n
\nThe ABS encourages the use of the ASGS by other organisations to improve the\ncomparability and usefulness of statistics generally, and in analysis and\nvisualisation of statistical and other data.
\n
\nThe ABS Structures are a hierarchy of regions developed for the release of ABS\nstatistical information. The main components are as follows:

\u00b7 Statistical\nAreas Level 3
\u00b7 Statistical\nAreas Level 4
\u00b7 Regional\nBoundaries (Local Government Area, Suburb)
The Australian Bureau\nof Statistics Geographical Standard Boundaries, Statistical Areas are\nused to define geographical areas to support statistical and socio-economic\nanalysis at a state and regional scale. They are useful for analytical purposes\nwithin statistical boundaries through the aggregation of a wide swath of data\nand information.
The ABS maintains the\nAustralian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) and the Australian Standard\nGeographical Classification (ASGC) for pre-2011 census information.
In addition to the\nNSW Administrative Boundaries Theme Australian Bureau of\nStatistics also provides this data via a web service direct from ABS.

The regions defined in the ABS\nStructures will not change until the next Census in 2021. The Non-ABS\nStructures are updated only when the ABS considers that there are major changes\nto the administrative boundaries they represent.

| \n Accuracy \n | \n \n The dataset maintains a positional\n relationship to, and alignment with, the Lot and Property digital datasets.\n This dataset was captured by digitising the best available cadastral mapping\n at a variety of scales and accuracies, ranging from 1:500 to 1:250 000\n according to the National Mapping Council of Australia, Standards of Map\n Accuracy (1975). Therefore, the position of the feature instance will be\n within 0.5mm at map scale for 90% of the well-defined points. That is, 1:500\n = 0.25m, 1:2000 = 1m, 1:4000 = 2m, 1:25000 = 12.5m, 1:50000 = 25m and\n 1:100000 = 50m. A program of positional upgrade (accuracy improvement) is\n currently underway. \n | \n
