This dataset has a\nspatial reference of [WGS 84 = GDA94] and can NOT be easily consumed into\nGDA2020 environments. A similar service with a \u2018multiCRS\u2019 suffix is available\nwhich can support GDA2020, GDA94 and WGS84 = GDA2020 environments. In due\ncourse, and allowing time for user feedback and testing, it is intended that\nthese original services will adopt the new multiCRS functionally.
NSW Transport theme Railway\nrepresents\na permanent way of having one or more rail lines which provide\ntracks for vehicles. A railway\ncan be heavy rails, light rail, monorail\nand heavy rail siding, for example a railway,\ntramway or monorail.
This data\nis held and maintained within the Foundation Spatial Data\nFramework (FSDF) Transport theme and\nincludes key attributes such as railway name and\non-type (e.g onground, onbridge, intunnel etc).
\n\nData in Railway includes:
Heavy Rail - A track or set of tracks\nof iron or steel rails used for the passage of trains.
Heavy Rail Siding - A\nshort branch off a railway track, often connected at both ends to the mainline\ntrack, and used for shunting or for loading, unloading, and storing goods\ntrucks. This line feature dataset is part of the Digital Topographic.
Lightrail - A track or set of tracks of iron or steel rails\nused for the passage of light rail.
Monorail - A railway track that consists of a single rail or beam.
\n\nTransport data is used for:

\n\n\u00b7 asset management
\n\n\u00b7 infrastructure\nplanning and development.
Spatial Services continuously updates\nthis theme with information sourced from\nrelevant\nstakeholders\nand custodians, by data verification from\nother internal and external\ndatabases, by field investigation and research, as well as through Spatial Services\u2019 regular\ncycle\nof updating aerial imagery.

Accuracy | The dataset maintains a positional relationship to, and alignment with, the Lot and Property digital datasets. This dataset was captured by digitising the best available cadastral mapping at a variety of scales and accuracies, ranging from 1:500 to 1:250 000 according to the National Mapping Council of Australia, Standards of Map Accuracy (1975). Therefore, the position of the feature instance will be within 0.5mm at map scale for 90% of the well-defined points. That is, 1:500 = 0.25m, 1:2000 = 1m, 1:4000 = 2m, 1:25000 = 12.5m, 1:50000 = 25m and 1:100000 = 50m. A program of positional upgrade (accuracy improvement) is currently underway. |
