WGS 84 = GDA94 service
This dataset has a spatial reference of [WGS 84 = GDA94] and can NOT be easily consumed into GDA2020 environments. A similar service with a \u2018multiCRS\u2019 suffix is available which can support GDA2020, GDA94 and WGS84 = GDA2020 environments. In due course, and allowing time for user feedback and testing, it is intended that these original services will adopt the new multiCRS functionally.
A land parcel is an\narea of land with defined boundaries, under unique ownership for specific\nproperty rights or interests. A property is something that is capable of being\nowned, in the form of real property (land). The interest can involve physical\naspects, such as the use of land, or conceptual rights, such as a right to use\nthe land in the future. The NSW cadastre is an up to date parcel based land\ninformation system which contains a unique identifier which can be linked of\ninterests in land (i.e. rights, restrictions and responsibilities). The\ncadastre includes a geometric definition of land parcels linked to other\nrecords, such as land titles, describing the nature of the interests, the\nownership or control of those interests, and often the value of the parcel and\nits improvements.
A cadastral product\nor service visualises the boundaries of land parcels, often buildings on land,\nthe parcel identifier, and basic topographic features. The land parcel and\nproperty theme provides the foundation fabric of land ownership. It consists of\nthe digital cadastral database and associated parcel and property information.
Datasets: Cadastral\nFabric Cadastral Features Property
Purpose: land and property\ndata underpins the economic, social and environmental fabric of Australia and\nis used, amongst other things, to:
\n\nStatus: the Spatial\nServices Digital Cadastral Database (DCDB) maintenance program captures all\nchanges to the statewide cadastral fabric from new survey plans and a variety\nof other sources.
The DCDB upgrade\nprogram is improving the spatial accuracy of the cadastral fabric by using\nsurvey dimensions and improved survey control.
Upgrades are carried\nout together with the relevant Local Government Authority and are further\nfacilitated through the incorporation of data provided by Local Government\nAuthorities, Hunter Water and Sydney Water. Upgrade positional accuracy varies\nacross the state and generally ranges from less than 5m from true position in\nrural areas to less than 0.2m from true position in urban areas, dependent on\nthe survey control available.
Data quality in both\nCadastral Maintenance and Cadastral Upgrade is assured through specification\ncompliance and data topology rules.
Spatial Services is\ncurrently undertaking a cadastral supply chain digital transformation\ninitiative thorough the Cadastre NSW Program.
Future Status: NSW Foundation\nSpatial Data Framework 35 Future status Spatial Services continuously updates\nthis theme with information sourced from relevant stakeholders and custodians.\nThe majority of updates to the datasets in this theme originate from\nsubdivision, registration and gazettal activity.
Spatial Services\nworks with Local and State Government to upgrade the accuracy of the\nDCDB.

Accuracy | The dataset maintains a positional relationship to, and alignment with, the Lot and Property digital datasets. This dataset was captured by digitising the best available cadastral mapping at a variety of scales and accuracies, ranging from 1:500 to 1:250 000 according to the National Mapping Council of Australia, Standards of Map Accuracy (1975). Therefore, the position of the feature instance will be within 0.5mm at map scale for 90% of the well-defined points. That is, 1:500 = 0.25m, 1:2000 = 1m, 1:4000 = 2m, 1:25000 = 12.5m, 1:50000 = 25m and 1:100000 = 50m. A program of positional upgrade (accuracy improvement) is currently underway. |
