The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is the state's primary environmental regulator. Its objectives include to protect, restore and enhance the quality of the environment in New South Wales, having regard to the need to maintain ecologically sustainable development, reduce the risks to human health and prevent degradation of the environment.
