NSW Office of Sport

The Active Kids initiative, launched in early 2018, allows parents, guardians and carers of school children to apply for a $100 voucher to use for sport and fitness costs. 

The program’s overall objective is to increase children's’ participation in sport and active recreation, and to contribute to the Premier’s priority of reducing childhood obesity.

Unlocking the value of education data

Access to education data is critical to support research to inform policies and strategies that improve student outcomes in NSW. The Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation (CESE) is Australia’s first dedicated hub of education data and evaluation. CESE’s functions are to:

NSW Procurement

General Ledger data is collected by NSW Procurement from over 150 NSW Government Agencies.

This data covers $30 billion in annual spend and more than 2 million transactions per quarter.

Data.NSW federates over 10000 datasets that span everything from train usage to school location and enrollment numbers. These datasets are used across government and industry to make information accessible and assist in making better-informed decisions. In this data story we highlight the work that our colleagues at Revenue NSW are doing to facilitate the return of unclaimed money to citizens and businesses across NSW.

The Data Analytics Centre (DAC) Program and Practice team is developing a digital tool that NSW Government agencies can use to create comprehensive and fit-for-purpose data sharing agreements. As part of this project, we’ve developed a fast-track prototype that we are testing with data users across government.
