NSW Elevation Data Service

The NSW Elevation Data Service is an on-demand download service delivering a number of Spatial Services Elevation Datasets delivered in 100k map partitions.

Datasets delivered through this service are:

·      New South Wales 2 metre Contour Dataset
·      New South Wales 5 metre Digital Elevation Model Dataset
·      New South Wales 5 metre Resolution Slope Model Dataset
·   New South Wales 5 metre Resolution Aspect Model Dataset

These datasets are designed to fit together seamlessly and to provide an authoritative terrain dataset to support the development industry standards in a variety of governmental, research and industrial uses.

New South Wales 2 metre Contour Dataset

The coverage of this dataset is over the full state of New South Wales. The 2 metre Contours are generated off a 5m DEM created from a combination of 1m and 2m resolution LiDAR DEMs and 5m resolution Photogrammetric DEMs using TIN ( Triangular Irregular Network ) method of averaging ground heights to formulate a regular grid. Data is provided in Esri Shape file format.

New South Wales 5 metre Resolution Digital Elevation Model
The coverage of this dataset is over the Western New South Wales region. The 5 metre Digital Elevation Model ( DEM ) is produced from a combination of 1m and 2m resolution LiDAR DEMs and 5m resolution Photogrammetric DEMs using TIN ( Triangular Irregular Network ) method of averaging ground heights to formulate a regular grid. This data set contains ground surface model in ascii grid format derived from various Airborne Digital Sensors.

New South Wales 5 metre Resolution Slope Model Dataset

The coverage of this dataset is over the Western New South Wales region. The 5 metre Slope ( SLP ) is produced from a combination of 1m and 2m resolution LiDAR DEMs and 5m resolution Photogrammetric DEMs using TIN ( Triangular Irregular Network ) method of averaging ground heights to formulate a regular grid. This data set contains ground surface model in ascii grid format derived from various Airborne Digital Sensors.
